- Morning: Wanderers v Ceylon Lions – 10:00am
- Afternoon: Tornado v Rounders – 2:00pm
Wanderers won the T20 League in 2010, their last taste of local success, but a semifinal clash against Ceylon Lions gives them a chance to salvage something this season.
However, the team in their path is a hungry Ceylon Lions and one of the best teams this season.
Wanderers nicked league champions Kutchi Tigers but now have to deal with a full-blown headache in Ceylon Lions. Ceylon Lions made light work of Avengers to make the semifinals and now that they smell blood they are relishing an opportunity of winning a 1st local title.
Ceylon Lions will be counting on the runs from Captain Hamu Kayondo and Robinson Obuya plus the added former international Collins Obuya with Juma Miyagi responsible for picking up wickets.
Wanderers will need to be good and also have luck with them to pick up the win. On paper Ceylon Lions has the better squad but Wanderers has tried and tested players such as Wasim Butt, Davis Karashani, Abu Seguya, and Captain Ivan Kakande for inspiration.
This clash is a proper slog feast and the true definition of a final before the final.
In the other semifinal, Rounders travel to Kampala to face Tornado.
Rounders had just enough against Nyakasura to get into the Semifinals. Tornado dealt with quarterfinal surprise package Budo to get this far.
A difficult fixture to predict but Rounders can be good on their day with the young players Pius Oloka, Jonathan Nyiro and Richard Sohera in touch after leading their school Jinja SS to the cricket week title.
Calvin Watuwa has been in phenomenal form since his return from a short stint in Zimbabwe and his runs have been good value for Tornado. If Cyrus Kakuru and Stephen Wabwose can make contributions with the bat, then Tornado will have a chance of making the final.
The rules dictate that if play isn’t possible in any of the games teams will go for a bowl out and if that doesn’t separate them as well then a coin toss will decide the winner.
