URA opens lead on Hudu Mulikyi’s transfer reports

Uganda Premier League side URA Football Club has come out strong to refute transfer reports indicating that Hudu Mulikyi will be leaving the Tax Collectors.

Different media outlets reported that defender Mulikyi is soon completing a transfer to 13-time Uganda Premier League champions KCCA.

But the Tax Collectors have refuted the reports and speculation via the club’s official website confirming that the defender has a contract with the club until 2026.

“It has come to our attention that there are circulating rumours and speculations about our esteemed utility player, Hudu Mulikyi, potentially joining KCCA FC. We would like to refute these claims and set the record straight,” the statement partly reads.

“Hudu Mulikyi remains a vital part of URA FC, and we are proud to have him as part of our squad. Mulikyi has a binding contract with URA FC that extends until 2026. There have been no discussion, agreements or plans to transfer him to KCCA or any other club,” the club added.

“The defender is currently part our team preparing for a test match for Nakivubo Stadium Grand Opening on Saturday, June 1 against Kitara FC.”

“URA values the commitment and dedication Hudu has shown to the club and we look forward to achieving more milestones together in the coming years.”

The defender Mulikyi is one of the longest-serving players at the club since leaving Maroons FC in 2016.

URA look forward to building a strong team with the guidance of the head coach Alex Isabirye who recently penned a three-year employment contract.
