The Uganda Men’s 7s national team touched down at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius on Thursday evening.
The sixteen-man contingent flew in at 5.45 pm MST (GMT+4) aboard Kenya Airways together with three other teams that included defending champions Kenya.
All teams had a quiet reception onto the beautiful tropical island where they will spend the next two weeks competing in the 2024 Rugby Africa Men’s 7s tournament.
Uganda’s captain Ian Munyani was still crestfallen having missed out on qualifying for the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in Monaco last weekend. But he revealed that he was hopeful that Uganda would come out on top of the continent in this tournament.
He will hold his captain’s run on Friday afternoon at the Labourdonnais Sports Club before the tournament kicks off on Saturday.
