Kitara have agreed terms with free agent Umar Lutalo who left SC Villa at the end of the previous season.

The left footed versatile player spent three years at the Villa Park club helping the side end a 20-year wait for a record extending 17th title last season.

He immediately announced his departure from the Jogoos and was linked with a move to Croatia.

However, the deal to Europe collapsed with reports that SC Villa didn’t sanction the move, something shocking as he reliably didn’t have a contract.

Reports however suggest that the contract he signed at Villa was meant to expire in September 2024 and not June as he thought.

He will now return to the UPL and Kitara will be his home with the deal being finalized before the end of the current primary transfer window.

Elsewhere, Richard Basangwa signed for six-time champions Express after a failed stint in Egypt while SC Villa could land veteran winger Sula Matovu according to reports.

Both Lutalo and Matovu watched SC Villa’s 4-2 triumph over Mbarara City on Monday.
