Champion Ogudo has turned down a scholarship offer from lawyer Counsel Nalukoola Luyimbazi, who had pledged to cover the entirety of his primary school education.
The unexpected decision has left many astonished, as the offer came after Ogudo expressed a strong desire to return to school, citing financial difficulties.
After being expelled from Alien Skin’s Fangone Forest in Makindye, both Champion Ogudo and his brother faced hardships, struggling to make ends meet.
Counsel Nalukoola’s gesture appeared to be a much-needed opportunity, with plans already set to enroll Ogudo at Takuba Primary School.
However, Ogudo’s failure to attend the scheduled interview on Tuesday revealed that his brother had found another sponsor, willing to fund his education at a different school.
In an interview with BBS Terefayina, Counsel Nalukoola agreed and respected their choice, emphasizing the importance of Ogudo’s education above all else.
On Monday, we visited Takuba Primary School, spoke with the directors and stakeholders, and agreed to have Champion Ogudo enrolled. He was set to attend an interview the following day, but to our surprise, his elder brother informed us that they had secured another sponsor to cover his fees at a different school.
