My name is Joseph Kisakye, and I come from Mukono, Uganda. For three years after university, I felt like a shadow of the man I aspired to be. I graduated with a diploma in Business Administration, full of dreams and energy, ready to take on the world. But life after school didn’t go as I had imagined.
After graduation, I applied for jobs everywhere I could. I printed CVs, visited offices in person, and even paid cyber cafés to submit online applications on my behalf. I was called for a few interviews, but none resulted in a job. Sometimes I was promised a call that never came; other times, I wasn’t even shortlisted.
