Speaker Anita Among offers cattle for King Oyo’s bride price at coronation

The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, left the crowd cheering at the 30th coronation anniversary of Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, after she pledged to pay the King’s bride price once he finds a wife.
While addressing dignitaries and subjects gathered at Karuzika Palace in Fort Portal, Among noted that she was more than ready to contribute cattle for the young monarch’s marriage.
Your Majesty, you know I’m a cattle keeper. I pledge to pay all the cattle once you find a woman to marry.
Her remarks came shortly after Queen Mother Best Kemigisa urged her son to consider giving her more grandchildren.
The call followed the recent baptism of Omukama Oyo’s first grandson, born to his sister Princess Ruth Komuntale.
