FINALLY! Jamus Unveil Jude Ssemugabi

South Sudanese champions Jamus SC have officially confirmed the signing of Ugandan forward, Jude Ssemugabi from Kitara.

The club confirmed Ssemugabi’s long-awaited arrival at Juba National stadium on Friday.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please join us in giving a warm welcome to our superstar, Jude Ssemugabi, who arrived in Juba this afternoon!” Jamus announced.

“Let’s show Ssemugabi love and support as he embarks on this exciting journey with us!” the club stated, convinced that the forward’s skills and talent will undoubtedly be a great addition to the Juba-based team.

The South Sudanese champions were set to announce the Uganda Cranes star in a mega unveiling in Juba back in June, but he prioritized playing in the CHAN tournament with Uganda’s locally based players, before officially switching to the Juba side.

No Time To Rest

Fresh from national duties; a successful CHAN campaign closely followed with a busy international break with the Cranes, Ssemugabi will only take a very brief rest before joining the rest of the team in training.

He will begin his first training session with the team on Sunday in preparation for the upcoming preseason friendly match against Al-Hilal of Sudan.

Ssemugabi’s Impressive Numbers

Ssemugabi scored ten goals for Kitara last season, and was since heavily linked to a move to KCCA, with other local outlets indicating that he also had an agreement with Vipers, but it is Jamus that have got him.

Ssemugabi will play in the CAF Champions League this season, as Jamus will represent South Sudan in the continental competition.

Jamus won the 2024/25 South Sudan Premier League title unbeaten! They collected 68 points from the 26 matches played, winning 21 games and drawing the other five.

Amongst the club’s many other new signings also include Richard Anyama, Jaffar Kerepi, William Gama, Felix Obama, Hassan Wasswa, Shabani Kagayo, Josue Manuma, Fichal Ouro Guezere, Houessi Hariston Hessou, Hergy Samoni, Madut Chol, Martin Otwao, Kevin Muhire and Peter Chan.
