OFFICIAL: Shafic Mutebi Departs Uganda Martyrs

Coach Shafic Mutebi has officially parted ways with both Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women Football Club and Uganda Martyrs High School, Lubaga, after nearly two years of service.

Mutebi has been serving as head coach of the high school’s football team and assistant coach for the FUFA Women Super League side.

His departure marks the end of a 20-month tenure with the two institutions.

In a heartfelt farewell message, Mutebi expressed his gratitude and appreciation:

“Dear Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga and Uganda Martyrs Women Football Club family,

“As I write this farewell message, I am filled with mixed emotions — gratitude, love, and a touch of sadness. After 20 incredible months, I have made the difficult decision to move on, and it is not without a heavy heart.

“I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such talented, dedicated, and passionate individuals. The experiences, lessons, and memories we’ve shared will forever remain etched in my mind and heart. Your resilience, teamwork, and commitment to excellence have inspired me in ways I never imagined.

“To the students, players, and staff, thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. Your growth, development, and success have been a constant source of joy and fulfilment. I will carry the lessons learned and the memories made with me wherever I go.

“As I take the next step in my career, I wish both the school and the football club continued success, prosperity, and growth. May God bless you all and guide you toward achieving your goals.

“Thank you for being my family away from home. I will miss you all dearly.”

It is reported that the CAF B license holder is set to return to Kampala Queens ahead of the 2025/26 season.
