NRC title chase returns to Jinja

The national rally championship heads back to Eastern Uganda; a month after the African championship round, the Pearl of Africa rally was held in the same area.

The Moil EMC Kyabazinga rally brings the NRC calendar to a fourth round slated for this weekend. The rally will run  in parts of Jinja and Iganga districts.

Over thirty crews have entered the event to take up the fight for points in their respective categories.

Jas Mangat currently leads the NRC with 140points; only 3.5points ahead of second placed Jonas Kansiime.

Mangat starts the race as the favorite for the victory; given his proven pace supplemented with a powerful car; the Hyundai i20 rally2.

Moustapha Mukasa is currently standing third on the NRC leaderboard; fourteen points behind Mangat. It is the closest he has been in his rally career.  A clean drive from him could maintain him in the top five crews after the weekend’s race.

The battle will also go down in the two-wheel drive category with Edward Kirumira, Ibrahim Lubega and Sam Watendwa eyeing maximum points.

Having won two of the three events, Musa Ssegaabwe will be out in search for another victory to faze off his rivals Haruna Kataza and Odeon Tumwebaze in the Clubman championship

The event will cover a total of six stages covering a total competitive distance of 121.62 kilometres
