Maurice Kirya shares thoughts on Uganda Musicians Association and Uganda National Musicians Federation

Maurica Kirya shared his insights on the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) and the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF). Kirya expressed appreciation for the efforts of both organizations, acknowledging that they strive to contribute positively to the industry.

He noted that while there are aspects he agrees with and others he does not, he still commends their overall work.

Maurice Kirya mentioned that he was unable to participate in the UMA elections due to COVID-19 restrictions, which prevented him from travelling to come and contest.

He says that in the journey to improve the music industry, it is important to recognise that no one is perfect. There will be successes and failures along the way, and both are part of the process.

According to Kirya, being popular does not necessarily mean that a person is capable of effectively accomplishing tasks.

He believes that understanding this difference is crucial, and he leaves the decision-making to the voters who choose their leaders.

There are things they are doing that are commendable and there are things that I would disagree with. Somebody being popular doesn’t mean they can do the job, there’s a big difference between being popular and being knowledgeable. Maurice Kirya
