Kitara hosts NEC in their premier league match at Royal Park, Butema in Hoima aiming to build on the win over Lugazi.

The Royals overcame the league debutants 3-0 to move top of the table on match day one and face a stern test in NEC who themselves beat an even superior opponent in Vipers 3-1 at Lugogo.

The hosts who have confirmed the availability of striker Denis Omedi despite speculation linking him to KCCA are favourites and their captain Maxwell Owachigiu wants to build on the win away to Lugazi.

“We were lucky to win the first game away to Lugazi and that is motivational enough to give us belief and win against a tough NEC side,” said Owachigiu before he called upon fans to show up in big numbers.

In NEC, they face their old boy Paul Mucureezi who wants to show he still can play at a high level.

“For me, facing my former sides is an extra motivation,” he told the club media. “The goal is always to show what am still capable of offering but the most important thing is to help the team get a good result,” he added.

The hosts will hope Omedi and Jude Ssemugabi maintain their club and country form with goals while the visitors will rely on lethal Cromwell Rwothomio, Mucureezi, Allan Mugalu and veteran Muzamir Mutyaba for inspiration on the day.

Key Stats

  • The only previous two topflight meetings last season ended with a home win for either.
