How Uganda Cranes players rated in the 1-0 win over Guinea

Uganda Cranes put their 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign back on track with a 1-0 win over visiting Guinea at Namboole thanks to Allan Okello magnificent strike from the free kick.
Our football writer Ismael Kiyonga rates the performance of each player as Uganda moved within three points of the leading pack.
Alionzi Nafian 6.0: He made a point blank save to deny the Guineans an equaliser late in the game. Did well to tame dangerous crosses in the area. Made a genuine claim for the number one spot.
Elvis Bwomono 4.0: Appeared to struggle with an injury through the first half and was replaced at halftime.
Aziz Kayondo 6.5: Workhorse performance as he went to toe with Aliou Balde. Improved deliveries as well in the area.
Bevis Mugabi 6.0: Stood up to Dortmund’s Guirassy and rarely put a foot wrong.
Elio Capradossi 6.5: Strong performance at the back and commanded the backline well as the skipper.
Kenneth Ssemakula 5.0: Made some vital interceptions but his passing was wanting.
Ronald Ssekiganda 5.0: Like his partner, defensively okay but afraid to take the ball forward.
Allan Okello 7.5: Won the game with an exquisite free kick and always willing to play that forward pass.
Travis Mutyaba 6.0: Won the free kick that resulted into winner and had a few neat touches. Wasteful in possession especially after the break.
Rogers Mato 4.5: Missed a good opportunity in the first half. Huffed and puffed but with no end result.
Shaban Muhammad 5.0: Guilty for missing a decent chance in the first half. Hold up play as a front man not the best.
Substitutions
Timothy Awany 6.0: Defensively solid and decent going forward on a few occasions. A big improvement on Bwomono
Calvin Kabuye 5.0: Better hold up play than Shaban who he replaced.
