How I Became the Favorite Wife in My Polygamous Marriage: A True Story from Uganda

My name is Rose Namatovu, and I come from Jinja, Uganda. I’m 35 years old and a proud mother of three. I’ve been married for almost 12 years, and like many women in polygamous unions, I’ve endured many challenges—heartache, neglect, and many sleepless nights. Three years ago, my husband married a second wife. At first, I stayed calm and composed, telling myself that I was his first wife and mother to his children, so nothing would come between us.
