Manchester City Football Club and English U-18 offensive stylish midfielder Divine Mukasa is surely envisaged as the next big item in world football.

Proven football scouting gems ‘The Next Wave’ have a befitting description of Mukasa, who will make 17 years on 22nd August this year.

“Divine Mukasa is a joy to watch. Tall and strong left footer of who is incredibly sound with ball at feet. Poised mind, consistent clever decisions. Naturalness to use either foot is brilliant, and epitomized by him taking numerous corners with his right foot” the Next Wave hailed the youngster.

This off-season, Mukasa alongside his family members spent 10 days of the break in Uganda, his father’s country of birth.

“It was a wonderful stay in Uganda. I enjoyed every moment, the people and the local food.” Mukasa junior spoke to Kawowo Sports in a special interview.

Mukasa has won the English Youth FA Cup twice on successive seasons in the 2022-2023 season with West Ham United and the subsequent 2023-2024 season with Manchester City.

He has already featured for the English U-15, U-16, U-17 and currently the U-18 youth national teams.

“I want to maintain the status quo and make it to the senior national team of England” Mukasa speaks boldly without mincing any word.

His confession would make Uganda and Lithuania (the country for his mother) very envious.

The mother Laima Mukasa fancies his son to play for the Three Lions.

“Definitely, the first choice is England. He is working so hard to achieve the goal” Laima attests.

Manchester City is very proud of the youngster whom they describe as skillful and creative.

“He (Mukasa) is a player that thrives in tight spaces and well capable of scoring and assisting goals, Divine adds an extra level of creativity to every side he plays in” Manchester City posted about the special talent.

Mukasa returns to England to prepare for the new season (2024-2025) as he diligently continues to break even.

“I will join the rest of my teammates for the pre-season training. I have had enough rest and liked it. I want to be promoted to the senior team at City (Manchester) and also make it to English senior team” the humbled offensive player adds.

To bring Divine to his ancestral roots in Uganda alongside the mother is clear justification that he is interested to align the son to his natural background.

Definitely, the future looks bright for Divine and the family but only time will tell where he eventually plays his senior football for the national team.

England, Uganda or Lithuania? Who knows?!
