Delegates from Oyam, Otuke, Dokolo, Apac, Amolatar & Alebtong Endorse Calvin Echodu for NRM Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda

Hon. Calvin Echodu has received a strong boost in his bid for NRM CEC Vice Chairperson Eastern Uganda, following a major endorsement from delegates in the Lango Subregion. Party members from the districts of Oyam, Otuke, Dokolo, Apac, Amolatar, and Alebtong gathered to declare their full support ahead of the NRM National Delegates Conference scheduled for August 22 at Namboole.

Although the Vice Chairperson role is meant to represent Eastern Uganda, the decision will be made by NRM delegates from all parts of the country. That is why this backing from northern Uganda is seen as a powerful sign of Echodu’s broad appeal across regions.

During the endorsement meeting, delegates praised Hon. Echodu for his hands-on leadership and deep connection with communities. They highlighted his efforts in promoting youth empowerment, improving education and infrastructure, and supporting local projects that uplift rural livelihoods.

Many described him as a practical leader who listens to the people and works hard to bring real change. “This endorsement is not just about the East,” said one delegate from Dokolo. “It’s about choosing someone who understands the people’s struggles and is ready to act.”
