It is a dream come true for every budding sports personality in whichever sport to crave for and surpass the bare-minimum for that much needed break-through moment.

The golden opportunity could be linkage to a professional club, state-of-art training exposure or access to top sporting gear (equipment), coaches, gear and nutritional supplements.

This is exactly the desirable position that 14-year-old tennis sensation Cillian Ndilima finds himself in as he heads to the Evert Tennis Academy, Boca Raton Florida in the United States of America (USA).

This has been enabled with the support of Thx 22 Foundation, a charitable arm of 22bet.

Cillian will have four full years at this famed Tennis academy with the full-time tennis training, holiday tennis camps (including to the best summer camp) and the best coaches.

Of course, it will necessitate the right character, attitude, mentality, positive work ethic and diligence from the key actor, Cillian, who has already played for Uganda in the underage competitions.

From the confidence showcased as Cillian majestically walked into the press conference room at Emin Pasha Hotel in Kampala, the writing is well spelt on the wall that the young personality is destined for greener pastures.

He was flanked by his father Cedric Babu Ndilima (former Uganda Tennis Association president), William Blick (IOC Member) and Collins Bongomin, head of marketing at Thx 22 Foundation.

Cillian expressed the confidence before a full pack of journalists, a key ingredient for successful sporting icons world-over.

“I want to win grand slams” he echoed with a firm voice in his brief but rich address.

“It is important for me to go to this academy (Evert Tennis Academy). Of course, there are lots of tournaments and exposure. This is one of the best academies in the world.” Cillian commented.

Fresh from the prestigious Olympic Games in Paris, France; Blick was full of appreciation and praise.

“This is the icing on the cake. Many Ugandan athletes are exceling in sport. I commend Cillian for this step. He is a young man. I commend Cedric (the father) for the support to the son.” He applauded.

In the same vein, Blick threw a word of caution; “You really got to work hard. I know you are focused and have the talent. You will inspire more young players. I wish you all the best. I thanked Thx 22 Foundation for supporting the talent. The beginning is most important, rather than the end. Give it your best shot.” Blick concluded.

His father Cedric Babu, a famous figure in Uganda’s sport sphere is full of confidence in his son and specially appreciated Thx 22 for the support.

“Cillian is a committed and focused young lad. He has really worked hard since he was young. He has excelled both academically and athletically, representing Uganda’s National Tennis Team and ranking among Africa’s top 20 players in the Under 14 category. Given his talent we believe with the right Support Cillian will be able to thrive and achieve maximum success on not just the National Level but as far as the continental and the International Level.” Babu hailed the son.
