Uganda’s legendary long distance athlete Joshua Kiprui Chepetegi is a man of vivid explosive actions rather than 1000 words.

He has loudly spoken on the track with bold actions of out pacing the opposition and decent final kicks.

At the 2024 Olympics in Paris city – France, Cheptegei set a new Olympic record in 10,000m with a time of 26:43.14, ahead of Ethiopia’s Aregawi (26:43.44) and Grant Fisher from the United States of America (26:43.46).

He holds the world records in 10,000m (26:11.00) and over 5000m (12:35.36).

This brings to three Olympic medals (two golds over 5000m and 10,000m as well as 1 silver in 10,000m at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics).

His message centered around appreciation, praise to the Almighty Lord and the special love he owes his family; wife and the children.

My good people, Paris 2024 might have come to an end, but the memories that we’ve build lives forever. I thank you all for supporting me to that glorious finish line. While in Paris, I enjoyed seeing some good things and even the food. Lastly, I thank God for His guidance and giving me joy and peace throughout the race. Even when others failed to believe in me, God said, I got you Josh. When in doubt, trust in God. When weak, believe in Him. I dedicate this medal to my lovely wife and my kids, my all-time cheer leaders.
