Bugweri Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Rachael Magoola, opened up about how long it took her to record a hit song that would get revelers off their seats to the dance floor.

She recollects that having joined the Afrigo band in 1989, she mostly performed the band’s songs and whenever she would be offered the opportunity to perform solo projects is when revelers would leave their seats to ease themselves and either go get a drink.

Such moments forced her to work hard and put in extra effort until 1997 when she traveled with the band to the United Kingdom (UK) and recorded her smash hit “Obangaina”.

Rachael Magoola credits the song’s success to Mr. Abbey Mukiibi Nkaaga who helped her promote it through their Bakayimbira Dramactors stage plays whenever they would perform at shows.

Shortly, revelers fell in love with the song and thus blew up and whenever she would accompany it with electric stage dances, she would get the crowd on its feet thus becoming a fan favorite.

Rachael Magoola went ahead to record more other hit songs including “Emaali” and has stuck to her craft.
