Arsenal place six players on transfer list as Edu looks to complete summer overhaul
The Gunners have already brought in three players this summer and are looking to sell in order to bring in a fourth recruitment this month
The summer transfer window now has less than a month remaining and for Arsenal, the next few weeks could be integral for the upcoming season.
The Gunners kick off the Premier League campaign with an opening day trip to newly-promoted Brentford on August 13 and Mikel Arteta will be determined to have at least one or two new faces in before then.
So far, Arteta has signed Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White for a combined total of around £75million, but the north London club are still aiming to spend more before the window closes at the end of the month.
But in order to keep spending, Arsenal must sell some players to generate the funds necessary, according to the Express, who are reporting that as many as six of their squad have been placed on the transfer list.
The Gunners want to sell Hector Bellerin, with the Spanish defender also keen on leaving the Emirates Stadium. Inter Milan are interested in signing the Arsenal full-back.
Meanwhile, Sead Kolasinac is 'surplus to requirements' in north London, the report claims and could be sold this month, while Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another player Arteta could look to offload to receive a transfer windfall.
Willian and Reiss Nelson are also reportedly up for sale, with the former said to be the subject of interest from abroad, and the latter wanted by new Crystal Palace boss and Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira.
Eddie Nketiah is also thought to be available for sale, with the striker now into the final 12 months of his contract at the Emirates.
If Arsenal can sell these seven players, then it would massively help in their pursuit of new signings, with a creative midfielder and goalkeeper still very much wanted by Arteta and Edu before the transfer window closes in a few weeks' time.
The Gunners are hopeful they can strike a deal with Real Madrid for Martin Odegaard, football.london understands, with James Maddison also someone being watched.
Aaron Ramsdale is the club's first choice goalkeeping target, but Sheffield United reportedly want £40m for the England international.
