  • Lillian Koowe & Joyce Kisembo 4/3 Vs Walter Tukahiirwa & Lambert Tumwesigye

The 2024 Stanbic match play golf challenge had the semi-finals successfully held at the lake-side par-71 Entebbe club.

Four pairings were engaged in the grueling action under sunny conditions.

Lillian Koowe and Joyce Kisembo’s fairytale run continued as they won their match 4/3.

Koowe and Kisembo defeated the duo of Walter Tukahiirwa and Lambert Tumwesigye.

“It was a great match. Our team chemistry has continued to improve thanks to the training sessions we have had over the past weeks” Koowe disclosed to the media.

Meanwhile, in the second match, Tony Kisadha and Richard Mwami combined to overcome Emmanuel Lwanga and Vincent Assimwe.

There was also exciting action in the subsidiary category with the golfers in the various handicap groups winning different prizes.

Teenager Shaka Karisa won group A men and Denis Kahinde took group B.

For the ladies; Sarah Nduhukire playing off handicap 18 amassed 35 points to win group A over Berna Musanaberna (H/C 11) with 34 points.

The ladies’ group B was championed by Ruth Akello with 43 points, playing off handicap 34.

That said, the final will be between Koowe and Kisembo against Kisadha and Mwami on Saturday, 12th October 2024.

At the grand finale, there will be air tickets, trophies and other prizes at stake.

The match play challenge is headlined by Stanbic Bank Uganda as the main sponsors.

Other partners include DSTV For Business, cfao motors, afrisafe, Johnnie Walker, Entebbe club; among others.
