Police started their 2024/25 season campaign with a point holding off a challenge from one of title favourites BUL at Kavumba Recreation Ground.

The Cops who spent two seasons in the Fufa Big League had to play over an hour with 10-men after striker Gerald Ogweti was sent off in the first half.

The ex-BUL centre forward was red carded in the 35th minute after he elbowed an opponent.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, the 2005 league winners held on for a point with goalie Edward Kasibante making several good saves to deny Abbey Kikomeko’s men.

The draw means Police are yet to lose at home in the league since the start of last campaign.

Their next game is a trip to Mbarara City who were beaten 4-2 by SC Villa at Wankulukuku on Friday at Kakyeka while BUL play hosts to KCCA on the same day at Lugazi stadium in Mabira.

Elsewhere, Express beat Mbale Heroes 2-1 at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.
