As earlier reported, it has been confirmed that both Kenya and Zimbabwe will host their September Afcon 2025 qualifiers at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

The confirmation was made by the Zimbabwe Football Associations after new Warriors Head Coach Michael Nees named his squad for matches against Kenya and Cameroon.

In a statement, the FA stated that the summoned players will report to camp in Kampala on Sunday September 01.

They will play away to Kenya in Group J, three days later at Namboole as the East African nation also don’t have a Caf certified stadium to host a match of the Afcon qualifiers magnitude and later host five-time champions Cameroon on September 10, a day after Uganda play Congo at the same venue as per fixtures.

Back to Nees’ squad, Young Africans top striker Prince Dube will lead a host of stars that include among others Jordan Zemura of Udinese in Italy, Tawande Chirewa of Wolves in England and Munashe Garanage of FC Copenhagen in Denmark.

The 2025 Afcon qualifiers will be complete by end of November with the tournament expected to take place starting in December 2025 to January 2026.
