Jinja SS Oval:

  • Afternoon: St John’s SS Mukono 95/9 beat Kiira College Butiki 79/8 by 16 runs

Mwiri Oval:

  • Morning: St Joseph’s College Layibi 173/3 beat Ntare School 141/8 by 32 runs
  • Afternoon: Busoga College Mwiri 282/5 beat St James SS 54 all out by 228 runs

Jinja College Oval;

  • Morning: Aga Khan 97/8 beat Soroti SS 46 all out by 51 runs
  • Afternoon: Delhi Public School 126/7 beat King’s College Budo 100 all out by 26 runs

Jinja SS Oval 2:

  • Morning: Nyakasura School 66/3 beat Gulu High School 65 all out by 7 wickets

Main Street Oval:

  • Morning: Busoga College Mwiri 242/7 beat Horizon International 40/9 by 202 runs

Kiira Primary School Oval:

  • Morning: Jinja SS 79/2 beat Kiira College Butiki 76 all out by 8 wickets
  • Afternoon: Soroti SS 117 all out beat Ndejje SS 99 all out by 18 runs

Busoga College Mwiri led the way in run scoring on Matchday 2 of the Boys’ Schools Cricket in Jinja. The record winners scored 542 runs in their two wins against St James and Horizon International School.

The team captain Gerald Olipa scored the first century of the tournament scoring 137 off 41 balls against St James SS but fell short of the century by three runs in the morning win against Horizon International in which he got 97.

A great day for Mwiri who need to show some championship mentality after a slow start on Matchday 1.

Aga Khan is unbeaten so far with a three-out-of-three record. They are the team chasing Mwiri in Group C, they are tied on the same number of points but only separated by Net Run Rate.

St Joseph’s College Layibi picked up two crucial victories that helped them stay in touch with the leaders in Group A. Ronald Lubangakene had two half-centuries on the day for the Northern region school. He scored a team-high 83 not out in the morning and followed it up with a 51 in the afternoon to get his team the edge.

Jinja SS picked up a routine win against Kiira College Butiki in the morning to remain on top while St John’s SS Mukono laboured to find a way against Kiira College Mwiri in the afternoon.

Gulu High School and Masaka SS played out the game of the day in a game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Gulu High School held their nerve in the final over with six runs required off six balls.

Masaka SS had dragged the game to the end after Gulu High School had come out blazing in the run chase, in the end, it came down to one play with Masaka SS putting down a chance on the boundary off the 1st ball of the final over to and once the ball trickled into the rope the equation changed from six off six to two off five balls.

Gulu High School got the result with three balls to spare. Gulu High School recovering from its morning loss to group leaders Nyakasura.

Group B very wide opening for all teams as we get into Match Day 3. Masaka SS and King’s College Budo are yet to get off the mark in Group B.
