*Iganga United FC vs Mbale Heroes FC – Iganga Ssaza Grounds

*Wakiso Giants FC vs Young Elephant – Wakisha Recreation Ground

*Kaaro Karungi FC vs Bunyoro United FC – Kyamate Play Ground, Ntungamo

*Kataka FC vs Soltilo Bright Stars FC – Mbale City Stadium

The 2025/26 FUFA Big League season is set to kick off on Sunday, September 28, following the release of the official fixtures.

The first round will run until January 11, 2026, before a break leading into the second round, which begins on February 22, 2026. The campaign will climax on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with promotion slots to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) at stake.

The top two teams at the end of the season will secure automatic promotion to the UPL, while the third-placed side will battle the third-bottom UPL team in a two-legged playoff for the final slot.

Wakiso Giants headline the new season after their six-year stint in the top flight came to an end with relegation in May. They will open their Big League campaign at home against Young Elephant, one of the four sides promoted from the Regional League.

Bright Stars and Mbale Heroes, also relegated from the UPL, face tricky away tests in their opening matches. Bright Stars visit Kataka, while Mbale Heroes travel to Iganga United.

Meanwhile, four clubs were relegated from the 2024/25 Big League season — Booma, MYDA, Busoga United, and Arua Hill — making way for new entrants from the Regional League.

With a blend of former topflight sides, ambitious regional debutants, and seasoned Big League contenders, the 2025/26 campaign promises to be one of the most competitive in recent years.
