Kenneth Mugabi dismisses claims of similarity to Maurice Kirya’s music

Kenneth Mugabi has dismissed claims that his music is similar to that of Maurice Kirya.
The two artists are often compared for their soft, love-inspired sounds, but Mugabi insists that their styles are worlds apart.
I would actually put Joshua Baraka in Maurice’s style. My style is totally different from theirs. It’s totally way different from the foundation; from the lyrics I use, from the percussive way I see… it’s so different.
While demonstrating with his guitar, Mugabi further highlighted how he fuses his music with Buganda-rooted beats, reflecting the culture he grew up in.
He noted that his choice of lyrics and rhyming structure also create a distinct identity that sets him apart from Kirya and other musicians.
The singer is currently gearing up for his concert, Tales of Mugabi, scheduled for September 19th at Kampala Serena Hotel.
