NBL Playoffs: Nam Blazers Cruise To Semifinals

Nam Blazers advanced to the semifinals of the National Basketball League playoffs after completing a clean 2-0 sweep over Rezlife Saints.
The Blazers sealed the series with a 76-61 victory in Game Two of the best-of-three quarterfinals played Thursday at Lugogo.
Rezlife came into the contest needing a win to keep their season alive after falling 54-41 in Game One on Saturday. However, the Blazers took charge early, winning the first quarter 23-18 and never looked back.
Anthony Chuckwurah led the way with 15 points, while veterans Jimmy Enabu and Michael Makiadi chipped in 14 and 11 points respectively. Michael Otieno (17 points) and Chris Omanye (13) provided the spark for the Saints but their efforts fell short.
Despite the loss, Rezlife can take pride in their campaign. The side not only avoided relegation but also reached the postseason in their first season since promotion from Division One.
The Blazers who topped the regular season standings, underlined their superiority by outrebounding Rezlife 47-33 and outscoring them 35-12 off the bench.
They now await the winner between UCU Canons and Kampala Rockets, with that series tied 1-1 heading into Sunday’s decisive Game Three.
