A couple of weeks after title winning captain Kenneth Ssemakula quit SC Villa, midfielder Umar Lutalo has also left.
The attacking midfielder who can also ably play as a left back announced his departure via his social media platforms.
Lutalo joined the Jogoos three years ago on return from Qatar’s Aspire Academy and has been a main stay in the Villa team whenever fit.
Last season, he scored 8 league goals, only behind the club’s top scorer Patrick Kakande as the Jogoos ended a 20-year wait for a record extending 17th league title.
Lutalo, a target for Villa’s rivals KCCA as well as sides from the Ethiopia Premier League thanked the management led by Hajji Omar Mandela, coaches, staff, teammates and everyone associated with the club in whichever capacity.
He becomes the third key player to part ways with the Villa Park aside, the other being Abasi Kyeyune who was sold to Cleopatra Celemica of Egypt.
SC Villa is yet to announce any new arrivals although reports indicate they agreed terms with Soltilo Bright Stars left back Kaka Omwony and Busoga striker Emmanuel Ajo.
The Jogoos will play at the CECAFA Kagame Cup next month and also represent Uganda at the Caf Champions League.
