Uganda Taekwondo Federation (UTF) has organized the 2024 Pabo open Taekwondo championship set for the 22nd and 23rd June at Pabo Town Council Hall in Pabo district.

The event will feature seniors, juniors and cadets fighters in either gender for the different weight categories.

According to Mark Ogwang, the organizing secretary of Uganda Taekwondo federation, the competitors will compete in the Kyorugi (sparring) and poomsea categories.

Senior athletes will register for Ug.Shs 10,000 per person and Ug.Shs 5000 for juniors.

Taekwondo action

Rewards:

There will be medals and trophies for the winners, first and second runners up for clubs as well as every category winner.

Eligibility requirements:

1. The athlete must be senior, Juniors, cadets and both Male and Female

2. World Taekwondo Recognized Taekwondo Uniform (Dobok) and Protective Equipment.

3. World Taekwondo rules and regulations will be followed.

Weight Division for Uganda Open Taekwondo Championship is in accordance with World Taekwondo divisions

  • Senior Male: -54kg, -58kg, -63kg, -68kg, -74kg, -80kg, -87kg, +87kg
  • Senior Female: -46kg, -49kg, -53kg, -57kg, -62kg, -67kg, -73kg, +73kg
  • Junior Male: -45kg, -48kg, -51kg, -55kg, -59kg, -63kg, -68kg, -73kg, -78kg, +78kg
  • Junior Female: – 42kg, -44kg, -46kg, -49kg, -52kg, -55kg, -59kg, -63kg, -68kg, +68kg
