Tight battle anticipated as top crews confirm entry for SMC Masaka rally


The second round of the national rally championship is showing all signs of a close and tight race as the entry list casts the country’s top crews.
The Bwera Bistro SMC Masaka rally is slated for this weekend and will run from Saturday through to Sunday.
Over 30 crews have confirmed entry of the event. The most notable entries are John Consta and Duncan Mubiru who are anticipate to create a shift in the battle for the top spot in Masaka.
Consta who is an approved speed merchant returns in his Ford Fiesta Proto.
Given his pace and the car, he is expected to shake up the top crews for the victory.
Duncan Mubiru enters with his upgraded Ford Fiesta Proto, and he is expected to bring his A-game to the rally and shake up the standing order.

The fight for the top spot will also include current NRC leader Ponsiano Lwakataka, Ronald Sebuguzi, Mike Mukula among others.
The battle is also expected in other categories as crews aim at strengthening their grip on the titles in the respective categories.
Masaka rally will have a rather unique itinerary; kicking off the event with four stages on Saturday before a super special stage in the afternoon.
Four more stages will be covered on Sunday.
