Singer Fik Gaza faces new charges of aggravated robbery in Wakiso

In a fresh twist, singer Fik Gaza and others have been slapped with other charges of aggravated robbery, which is claimed to have been done in Wakiso.

In a media address, SSP Press and Media Officer Patrick Onyango revealed how Fik Gaza was arrested last week on aggravated robbery charges and detained at Katwe Police Station.

The charges were, however, changed to simple robbery after legal intervention from the DPP.

Patrick Onyango further noted that they have received fresh requests from police in Wakiso, demanding to keep Fik Gaza in detention.

The Wakiso Police claim that the singer is also accused of aggravated robbery in areas of Wakiso, and they will record statements from him before he is arraigned before court later today or on Tuesday.

Jjingo Shafik a.k.a Fik Gaza and others, we still have them in custody at Katwe Police Station. He was supposed to be arraigned before the court on Friday, but the DPP legally advised to change the case from aggravated robbery to simple robbery. We have done that today, and we are to take him to the court on charges of simple robbery in Katwe.

However, there is another case file in which he is charged with aggravated robbery from Wakiso. The police from Wakiso have asked Katwe to continue to keep him detained so that they can come and record a statement from him. They will then decide what to do next. He is likely to be taken to court today or tomorrow.
