Benjamin Nyakoojo could be fit to face Al Hilal Benghazi in the Caf Confederation Cup after making the 20-man squad to Libya.

The big centre back was hurt in the 1-0 defeat to BUL in the Fufa Super 8 semi-final after a head collision with Ibrahim Oriti and had to be stretchered into the waiting ambulance on Saturday.

Nyakoojo partnered new signing Ronald Otti in that first half and the duo travels to Libya alongside Arthur Kiggundu, Jasper Aheebwa, captain Maxwell Owachigiu amongst defensive options for Brian Ssenyondo’s side.

Besides Douglas Oyirwoth and Ivan Sserubiri who started the game against BUL, all new signings are part of the team that left for Libya via Cairo on Monday.

Marvin Nyanzi, David Ndihabwe, Titus Ssematimba, Fred Amaku all make cut.

The surprise exclusion is goalkeeper Jamil Kiyimba who was key in the Uganda Cup triumph and also kept goal on Saturday.

Kitara are set to spend a fortnight in Libya where they play both legs after opting to host their game in Benghazi after they were informed of unavailability of Namboole.

The first leg will be played on Friday August 16 and the reverse fixture a week later.
