Property mogul Sudhir named among top investers on Uganda’s stock exchange market 2026.

The 2026 Stock exchange market assessment has ranked top Ugandans driving investments in the stock business proving hiw lucrative it is for long term income and capital. 

The assessment has revealed the richest investors on the top list including Sudhir Ruparelia, and Charles Mbire leading from the private sector.

Based on latest closing prices and computed using an exchange rate of UGX 3,561.77 to one US dollar, the review places the total market capitalization of the USE at approximately UGX 37.3 trillion as of early February 2026.

This comes on the back of a remarkable 34% rise in the USE All Share Index over the past year, a signal of growing confidence among investors despite prevailing global economic headwinds.

 Property magnate Sudhir Ruparelia, with a portfolio valued at $11.4 million is attributed to his holding in various companies such as 0.65% stake in Stanbic Uganda, 2.5% stake in Bank of Baroda Uganda among others.

Sudhir Ruparelia is the founder of the Ruparelia Group and one of Uganda’s most prominent businessmen, best known for banking, property and hospitality. Stanbic Uganda Holdings is the listed holding company for Stanbic Bank Uganda, one of the country’s biggest lenders, while Bank of Baroda Uganda is the listed arm of the India-linked bank operating locally.

The review also listed other investors including Charles Mbire, whose stock market portfolio is estimated at a commanding $91.1 million.

A pattern is evident in the bmking sector with most of the investors trusting their investments their followed by pahrmaceuticals industry among others.

Others include:

• I.K. Kabanda – $4.0 million (Primarily Stanbic shares)

• Ceasor Mulenga – $3.8 million (Bank of Baroda Uganda)

• Frederick Kitaka – $3.4 million (Quality Chemical Industries)

• Emmanuel Katongole – $3.4 million (Quality Chemical Industries)

• George Baguma – $3.4 million (Quality Chemical Industries)

• Michael Mbire – $1.9 million (Bank of Baroda Uganda)

• Joseph Byamugisha – $1.3 million (Bank of Baroda Uganda)

• Andrew Muhimbise – $1.2 million (Bank of Baroda Uganda)

 The Uganda Securities Exchange (USE) revealed that all Share Index climbed about 34% in the 12 months to Feb. 4, 2026, lifting market capitalization to roughly UGX 37.3 trillion – a notable run for a market that can still go quiet for days at a time.
