The energetic Precious Remmie has been away on maternity leave during which she embraced the joys and challenges of motherhood.

The most rewarding part is giving my firstborn a sibling since he so much wanted one and it feels great seeing them together Precious Remmie

We had a chat with her to talk about her time away, the lessons learned, and what’s next for her on and off the screen;

How does it feel to be back ON AIR after your maternity leave?

It feels amazing to be back on screen as I really missed my fans and my work place since it’s one of the best places to work at.

Can you share with us how you’ve been spending your time during maternity leave?

Honestly, I don’t want to lie, but my entire maternity leave, I have spent it with my baby since it feels like a whole new experience, these babies come along with a lot of work that leaves you with no time to do anything for yourself but what I can say is it’s all worth it.

What has been the most rewarding part of welcoming your second child?

The most rewarding part is giving my firstborn a sibling since he so much wanted one and it feels great seeing them together as he can’t let the baby cry for a minute in his presence, it brings tears to my eyes because I can’t believe I gave him a sibling.

Has becoming a mother for the second time changed your perspective on your career or the content you create?

Not really, I mean it’s just a second baby. It’s not that it’s my audience that has changed, so honestly nothing has changed

What were some of the challenges you faced during your maternity leave?

Postpartum depression and more so that my support system doesn’t stay with me more often and yet we all believe that any new mother needs the baby daddy around to help her in one way or another because even if you have house helps you really need him to sometimes see what your going through to raise their child and at least say “Sorry babe, everything is gonna be alright.”

Who has been your biggest support system during this period?

My PA, of course my husband has been a great support system but since he has not been so around on ground,my personal assistant has done great, and I am really humbled to have her as my PA and friend.

How has Sanyuka TV supported your transition back to work after maternity leave?

My work place has given me all the support I need to be back at work and I am so thankful to the Next Media and Sanyuka TV management for that.

What advice would you give to other working mothers in the media industry or those returning to work after maternity leave?

I know Postpartum depression is real but kindly don’t give up on yourself and more so don’t give up on your job because the stress and depression bring about a lot of negative thoughts like wanting to resign but don’t let it overtake you because you still need your job.

That job will help you get out of that house to at least have a feel of a new environment away from your home, probably you can get some smiles from there and before you know it, you will go back home a happy mother.

Try to work on your bodies so that you don’t feel out of place mostly when you resume work and receive some uncalled for comments from those you interact with.

Don’t let that baby take away all your joy and happiness, you should come first before anything else because a happy you will create a happy space for everyone.

Lastly, leave a message for your fans.

To all my fans who love Ray P, I am humbled, thank you so much for the overwhelming love that you showed me when I came back on TV, that love keeps me going, it keeps me wanting to stay on your screens even when I feel like giving up sometimes, so thank you so much. I love you and God bless you.
