NWSC announces water disruptions in parts of Kampala on Wednesday

According to NWSC official statement, the interruptions will occur from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to facilitate system upgrade works and routine maintenance at Ggaba Water Works.
customers have been urged to store water ahead of the disruption accordingly.
“Customers are therefore advised to store enough water and use it sparingly as we work. All inconveniences are highly regretted,” the corporation said.
The affected areas include parts of Lukuli, Salaama Road, Namasuba, Ndejje, Busabala, Lubowa, Seguku Katale, Nalumunye, Bandwe, Bunamwaya, Kigo, Kyengera, Nabbingo, Najjanankumbi, Freedom City area, Ntinda, Kiwatule, Kulambiro, Kisaasi, Komamboga, Bukoto, Naalya, Kawanda, Luteete Masooli, Kyambogo, Kitagobwa, Kiti, Kabaga,Jjokolera, Katadde, Nabusugwe, Bulindo, Mayangwa, Kungu, Kira, parts of Gayaza Road, and surrounding areas.
NWSC has called on residents to plan their water usage carefully to minimize inconvenience during the maintenance works.
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) operates on a commercial, financially viable basis, providing cost-effective, quality services while conserving the environment, and currently serves over 258 towns across the country.
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation is a water supply and sanitation company in Uganda. It is wholly owned by the government of Uganda. As of October 2023, the company supplied 730,000,000 cubic metres of potable water daily to the country.
The NWSC Strategic plan 2024-2027 focuses on expanding water and sanitation services across Uganda by aligning with national goals, supporting industrialization, increasing water coverage, promoting health, and involving the private sector.
This plan addresses risks like rapid urbanization, climate change, and technology shifts, and it builds on previous plans by increasing connections, assets, and customer bases to move towards universal access to clean water and sanitation in Uganda
