Support our artists when they are still alive – Mbale music fraternity speaks out following MC Garvin’s demise

The music fraternity in Mbale has strongly voiced its disappointment with the Kampala-based media for neglecting their entertainers and only paying attention to them when they die.

While addressing people at the sending off of the slain popular emcee, MC Garvin, a representative of the Mbale music fraternity urged Kampala-based mainstream media, bloggers, and fellow artists to engage their artists and see how they can help promote their careers while they still live.

MC Garvin, popular for his energetic and creative emceeing tactics, died from fatal injuries after being stabbed by his supposed lover.

His death has left a dark cloud over the music fraternity, who continue to mourn him and celebrate his contribution to the industry at large.

“Why does Kampala-based media pay the most attention when artists die? Why? If you had given the same attention to MC Garvin while he still lived, it would have changed his life immensely,” Arafat Updates, a renowned entertainment vlogger based in Mbale, noted.

“If you cannot support these artists while they are alive, maintain the same energy when they die,” he added.
