Social media has been buzzing with mixed reactions after Miss Uganda 2024/25, Natasha Nyonyozi, visited the Kiteezi landfill, donning her full pageant attire and crown.

The visit, intended to express sympathy and support for the victims affected by the landfill, has sparked debate over the appropriateness of her outfit.

Natasha was accompanied by the pageant’s CEO, Brenda Nanyonjo, among others, during the visit.

The group expressed their condolences and offered aid to those impacted by the landfill’s tragic conditions.

Nyonyozi, speaking on behalf of the group, emphasized their commitment to helping the victims in any way possible.

We have reached out to the victims to sympathize with them and help in any possible way we can. I want to thank the Red Cross and the Miss Uganda Pageant for the help rendered in terms of food and other amenities.

I want to urge all those who can help to reach out and do so. We are also talking to all our sponsors to see that they help the victims. Most of all, don’t forget to pray for these people.

Despite the good intentions, Nyonyozi’s choice of attire became a focal point of criticism on social media.

Many users questioned the decision to wear her crown and pageant gown, suggesting that it came off as a marketing move rather than a genuine act of compassion.

However, not everyone shared these critical views. Some defended Nyonyozi, urging others to focus on the positive message and the help being extended to the victims.

They argued that the emphasis should be on the aid provided and the awareness raised by her visit, rather than her outfit.
