Kalisizo Seed School triumphs in 2025 USSSA Kyotera district football competition

Kyotera District USSSA Football Championship 2025:

• Final: Nile Citizen 0-1 Kalisizo Seed School

Kalisizo Seed School won the 2025 Kyotera district USSSA football (Boys) championship.

This followed a 1-0 victory over Nile Citizen in the final played at St John’s Kabwooko playground.

Kennedy Okwi scored the all-important goal of the game before the victors received their trophy and gold medals.

Throughout the tournament, Kalisizo Seed School remained solid as they finished unbeaten, scoring 7 goals and conceding thrice.

They won both their games at the group stages over Kabaale 2-1 and Master Cares 1-0.

At the quarter final level, they overcame Sacred Heart Kiteredde 1-0 before enduring a tense 4-2 post-match penalty victory in the semi-finals after normal time had ended 1-goal apiece.

Earlier on, Kalisizo Seed School had won all their four games at the zonal level, scoring 13 goals and conceded none.

They opened up with a 2-0 victory over Matale Church of Uganda school.

Kalisizo Seed then hammered Kabuwoka SS and St Monica by an identical 5-0 scoreline apiece before ending with a slim 1-0 over Kiweewa Secondary School.

Abdul Mulungi led the scoring charts with five goals to his name.

Kennedy Okwi had three, Jackson Kapuru registered two goals and the trio of Rogers Ssekanjako, Herbert Kamya and John Mugisa all had a goal to their name tag apiece.

Kalisizo Seed School head coach Edirisa Walusimbi is now gearing up for the Greater Masaka regional championship due in Lyantonde next month (April).

“The first two hurdles were successfully jumped. I thank the players and school management for the collective effort. Focus is now switched to the regionals of Greater Masaka that will take place in Lyantonde district” Walusimbi states.

The school head teacher Juliet Nakabiito was equally overwhelmed by the sporting success as she accompanied the players to receive the trophy and gold medals.

Kalisizo Seed School’s motto is “Fear God, Love wisdom”.
