Blueface Gets A Break In Prison Sentence

A Sin City judge issued their sentencing for Blue after he violated probation in relation to a shooting in Oct. 2022. Hot97 reports that Blueface, born Johnathan Porter, participated in the Las Vegas hearing on June 24 by phone.

According to 8NewsNow, Clark County District Court Judge Kathleen Delaney gave him up to three years of probation and suspended a two-to-five-year prison term. For context, this means the Los Angeles artist will not have to serve time in prison if he chooses to comply with Delaney’s conditions.

8NewsNow disclosed that Judge Delaney also imposed a 30-day jail term on the rapper but credited him with time served due to his current incarceration in a separate California case. Although Blue has received some slack, he must adhere to strict probation conditions.

Per 8NewsNow, the musician must avoid drugs and alcohol, stay away from the Las Vegas strip, attend counseling, refrain from contacting the shooting victim, maintain full-time employment, adhere to a curfew, report to parole, and grant access to his communications and social media.

Judge Delaney also issued a strict warning to Blueface regarding firearms.

“If you get caught doing that, you get brought back here on any kind of probation violation especially anything involving weapon, I will not hesitate to put you in prison for significant period of time. You are playing with your liberty, your life obviously. But you’re playing with your liberty if you’re going to have guns and do anything that’s going to violate your probation in that regard,” Delaney explained.

Social Media Reacts To Rapper

The Shade Room’s Instagram report prompted several reactions from commenters, including Blueface’s mother, Karlissa Saffold, who wrote, “To all the real mothers! Keep my baby in your prayers ❤

Here’s Why Blueface Is Behind Bars

As The Shade Room previously reported, Blueface surrendered to Los Angeles authorities on January 12 for allegedly violating his probation. TMZ later disclosed that Blueface breached “one or more terms of his probation” from a September 2021 assault case in Los Angeles but did not specify the nature of the violation.

On February 1, the Daily Mail reported that a Las Vegas judge issued an arrest warrant for Blueface for violating probation related to a 2022 shooting case. The judge instructed him to turn himself into Las Vegas authorities once released from Los Angeles.

Per Hot 97, Blueface’s attorney confirmed his cooperation with law enforcement and his commitment to focusing on his career. The outlet reports that he’s set to appear in court in Los Angeles on July 29. Although his release date remains unclear, his family is hopeful about his return.
