Girls:
- Gombe SS 20-20 Kawanda SS
- Kawanda SS 22-19 Kakungulu Memorial
- Kibuli SS 26-23 Mbogo High
Boys:
- Kawanda SS 14-20 Gombe SS
- Kakungulu Memorial 22-18 Mbogo Mixed
The 2024 UMEA solidarity games officially started in Masaka city on Good Friday, 29th March.
Action unfolded in handball, like the rest of the other sports disciplines being competed in at these games.
Kawanda SS won one opening match 22-19 over Kakungulu Memorial and played to a 20-all stalemate with Gombe Secondary School for the girls.
Kibuli Secondary School edged hard-fighting Mbogo HIgh 26-23 in the other girls’ contest.
For the boys, Kakungulu Memorial overcame Mbogo Mixed 22-18 and Gombe SS overcame Kawanda SS 20-14.
Handball action continues on Saturday through to Easter Monday when the games will climax.
Besides handball, the schools are also competiting in football (boys and girls), volleyball (boys and girls), netball, table tennis and badminton.
The UMEA Muslim Solidarity Games bring together the schools that were founded on the Islamic faith.
