Sadick Ssempigi’s tenure at Onduparaka began on a high note as his side claimed a crucial home victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Onduparaka edged Busoga United 2-1 in a FUFA Big League encounter played at the Greenlight Stadium in Arua on Sunday.
Junior Andama opened the scoring for the hosts with a beautiful strike in just the second minute of the game.
However, Busoga United responded on the stroke of halftime through Yusuf Adam, who brought the visitors level.
In the 55th minute, Jimmy Oola restored Onduparaka’s lead, sparking renewed energy from the home fans.
Ssempigi’s men managed to hold firm and secured all three points, marking their first win since January.
The result lifts Onduparaka to eighth place with 25 points from 20 matches, while Busoga United sits in 11th position with 23 points.
