Villa, Kitara fire blanks at Wankulukuku

SC Villa and Kitara FC settled for a barren stalemate on Saturday in a closely contested game played at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

Neither side could find the breakthrough despite creating scoring opportunities on the day.

SC Villa came into this game on the back of Uganda Cup elimination at the hands of Vipers SC and missed their star player John Patrick Kakande through injury.

On the other hand, Kitara FC who edged BUL FC in their Uganda quarterfinal game were equally missing some key players.

Patrick Kaddu, Titus Ssematimba and George Ssenkaba were all suspended following the ugly scenes in their victory against BUL FC.

Fred Amaku nearly got onto the score sheet in the 26th minute but he arrived just late and failed to meet Rogers Mugisha’s cross.

On the other end, Kitara goalkeeper Crispus Kusiima was called into action in the 27th minute to deny Charles Lwanga.

The game continued in the same fashion with either side getting chances but couldn’t find the outlet.

The draw means Kitara FC remained fifth on 37 points same as KCCA FC in sixth and SC Villa in seventh position.
