As Uganda's National Resistance Movement (NRM) embarks on a crucial electoral journey to shape the country's future, one name stands out among the rest - Hassan Basajjabalaba, the dynamic leader of the Entrepreneurs League. With his impressive track record of driving economic growth and development, he is poised to take on even greater challenges, inspiring a new generation of Ugandans to join the journey towards a brighter future.

Born in Bushenyi in April 1967, Basajjabalaba is the ideal candidate to lead Uganda's entrepreneurs towards a brighter future. His achievements demonstrate his commitment to Uganda's development, having built a diversified business empire through his company, HABA Group, with operations in sugar refining, tea plantations, pharmaceuticals, and real estate. He has also founded Kampala International University, one of the largest private universities in Africa, with international operations in Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.

His vision for Uganda's development focuses on several key areas, including reducing electricity tariffs, reviving the Cooperative Bank, establishing a land bank to support farmers and the landless, addressing high taxes on entrepreneurs, and improving road infrastructure. By tackling these critical issues, he aims to unlock new opportunities, foster innovation, and propel the nation towards sustainable prosperity.

One of the significant challenges facing businesses and households in Uganda is the high cost of electricity. He plans to leverage his connections with the government to negotiate more favorable tariffs, promoting economic growth and competitiveness. By reducing electricity costs, businesses will be able to save money, invest in expansion, and create more jobs, ultimately contributing to the country's economic development.

Additionally, he aims to revive the Cooperative Bank, which played a vital role in supporting small-scale farmers, entrepreneurs, and cooperatives in Uganda before its collapse. By reviving this institution, he hopes to provide a vital lifeline to these communities, enabling them to access affordable credit and improve their livelihoods.

His plan also includes establishing a land bank to provide farmers and landless individuals with access to affordable land, enabling them to engage in productive agricultural activities and improve food security. This initiative will not only promote agricultural development but also provide opportunities for economic empowerment and poverty reduction.

He is also committed to supporting entrepreneurs by advocating for reduced taxes and streamlined regulatory processes. By creating a more favorable business environment, he hopes to foster innovation and job creation, ultimately contributing to the country's economic growth and development. With strong beliefs that entrepreneurs are the backbone of any economy, supporting them will unlock Uganda's full potential and achieve sustainable economic growth. His focus on improving road infrastructure is another critical aspect of his development plan, aiming to enhance connectivity and accessibility in rural areas.

Furthermore, his plans to establish a health facility in each Region modeled after the Aga Khan Hospital in Kenya and meeting German standards, will significantly improve healthcare provision in Uganda, reducing mortality rates and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. By providing access to quality healthcare, he aims to improve the health and well-being of Ugandans, which is essential for the country's economic development.

As we move forward in electing our leaders, it's clear that Hassan Basajjabalaba's vision for Uganda's development stands out. With a proven track record of success and a commitment to the country's growth, he's the ideal candidate to drive meaningful change and promote economic development. His initiatives promise to boost economic growth, improve the quality of life for Ugandans, and contribute to sustainable development.

I call upon the people of the Eastern Region, from Greater Busoga, Greater Teso, Greater Bugisu, and Greater Sebei Region, to come together as a block in support of Hassan's visionary leadership. His commitment to driving economic growth, improving lives, and fostering sustainable development aligns with our region's aspirations.

Let's rally behind a leader who understands our needs and has a proven track record of success. Together, we can shape a brighter future for our region and Uganda as a whole.
