Retired NFL player Shannon Sharpe, rapper Ty Dolla $iGN, and WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes were in the building to watch the women ball out. Team USA, which will compete later this summer in Paris, was led by Diana Taurasi. The hooper has five Olympic gold medals and showed the All-Star why, opening the game with a flawless three-point shot. However, the WNBA players quickly answered back. At the close of the first quarter, the teams were just one point apart.
WNBA superstar Reese knocked down 12 points and rebounded like she was her mentor, Shaquille O’Neal, recording a total of 11. Furthermore, she earned a double-double by the end of the game, making the Chi Barbie the first rookie to reach this feat in an All-Star game. Additionally, stand-out rookie Clark was handing out assists like she was John Stockton. Overall, she had the most assists made by a rookie in an All-Star game. She ended with a total of 10 assists and four points.

As previously reported by The Shade Room, the ladies have been rivals since Reese made the John Cena ‘You Can’t See Me’ hand gesture back to Clark as they faced off for the NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championship. The LSU Tigers were ultimately victorious over Iowa, blowing them out 102-85. The rivalry continued as they reached the WNBA, with media outlets constantly comparing the ladies.

As the hoopers played together, their teammate, Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale, was on fire, scoring 34 points by the game’s end. This earned her the WNBA All-Star Game record for scoring and was also selected as the match-up’s MVP.

Although the game was relatively close in the first two quarters, Team WNBA held it down in the final two quarters, winning 117-109.
