Four Talking points ahead of Matchday 22 of the Uganda Premier League

The premier league enters match day 22 with fixtures starting Thursday and will go on until Saturday.
Here are the four huge talking points ahead of yet another thrilling match day.
Kitara has a point to prove against Mubiru, KCCA
Prior to the first-round clash, Abdallah Mubiru irked the Kitara fans, management and players by labelling the club as small compared to KCCA.
In his submission, Mubiru reiterated that they were just a team on form but still had to a lot to get to the level of being called a big club.

Fortunately, even on the pitch on the day KCCA came out on top winning the Lugogo game 2-0.
A lot has changed since then though at Kitara with the Royals partying with Brian ssenyondo and now experienced Wasswa Bbosa is in charge and the team is doing well.
Only two points separate the two sides although none is in contention for the title but a win for either will go a long way in inflating the egos and pride which makes the match at Butema a must watch.
Can Lugazi throw a spanner in Vipers’ works?
After over 19 matches unbeaten in the league, Vipers were brought back to earth by SC Villa who beat them 1-0 at Wankulukuku on Saturday in a dominant performance.
Next for the Venoms is Lugazi who held the side to a goalless draw in the reverse fixture.

Both teams have since changed coaches and also improved form with Vipers on top of the table while Lugazi are over 12 points away from the relegation monster.
Can Steven Bogere’s men avoid defeat at Kitende and throw a monkey wrench in Vipers works? That good music to NEC ears in the race to dethrone Villa.
Can Bright Stars, Wakiso Giants re-ignite minimal survival chances?
With each passing match day, signs become clearer that Wakiso Giants and Bright Stars stay in the premier league could come to an end this season.

The Purple Sharks are 9 points off safety positions while the Stars are two more behind ahead of the next match day in which they play away to Mbale and at home to Police respectively.
If they can get that elusive win, maybe that can be a springboard for renaissance but the big question remains. Can they win a game of football at the moment?
What should we from demotivated Express at Luzira?

The league’s oldest football club is in the news for the bad reasons. Reports suggest that players have downed their tools over non-payment and this explains the poor results in the recent fixtures in which they have lost five of the six matches.
They make a short trip to Luzira where stubborn Maroons is lurking. It is tough to predict what to expect from the side.
