Education service commission to roll out public hearings on education reforms in Uganda.
The Education Policy Review Commission (EPRC) is rolling out public hearings to all regions of Uganda in order to collect policy issues and recommendations for all levels of education and sports.
The first regional public hearings will be launched in Busoga region by His Royal Highness, the King of Busoga on Monday, September 12th, 2022 at 10 A.M at his Palace. Thereafter, the Commission will visit several districts in Busoga in the week of 12th – 16th, September, 2022, to engage leaders, educationists, public officials, civil society, foundations, religious and cultural bodies and citizens on the formulation of a new policy for the sector, as well as inspect some schools and institutions of learning.
According to the Communication Specialist with the Commission Agnes Asulo on Thursday 8th 2022, the Commission was inaugurated by the First Lady and Hon. Minister of Education and Sports in May 2021, to review the education and sports sector, and draft a new macro policy framework for education and sports for Uganda to replace the Government White Paper on Education of 1992.
