Arsenal will likely have to wait a long time to get Barcelona midfielder Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The Gunners are allegedly interested in rekindling their interest in the former Liverpool midfielder in the next transfer season, after attempting to bring the Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium last year.
A transfer proved too pricey for the Gunners, and they ultimately boosted their midfield options in January with the loan signing of Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid.

Despite being said to have renewed their interest in Coutinho, Arsenal may have to wait to see whether they can secure their man this time.
Barcelona, according to Sky Sports, would not allow him go until at least July, as he continues to recover from a number of injuries.

Coutinho's season has been plagued by a variety of ailments, including three consecutive knee operations since January.
He's already been ruled out of the Copa America this summer, and Barcelona wants to see how he recovers before allowing him to go.

Coutinho's career in Catalonia has reached yet another stumbling block.
He enjoyed a promising first six months at the Camp Nou after sealing a big-money move from Liverpool, but swiftly fell out of favour.
During the 2019/20 season, the 28-year-old was sent out on loan to Bayern Munich, where he won the Champions League.

Due to his reoccurring fitness concerns, he was only given 14 appearances upon his return to Spain.

Coutinho's contract with Barcelona is set to expire in two years.
