vibrant and inspiring development strategy which positions them to become economically seif sustaining.
Bishop Baalwa in his homily said the church of Uganda was launching a deliberate strategy of going out to offer spiritual nourishment services to the population which is currently devastated due to many societal challenges.
We have taken a deliberate decision to send out our church teams across the country with a mission of offering spiritual nourishment messages to the citizens who are currently going through turbulent times ranging from the recent elections fatigue, trade order operations and surging levels of poverty among others.
He called on the government to strengthen systems of dialogue and engagement with citizens as a healing vehicle to those affected by the challenges.
Bishop emeritus Hannington Mutebi also preached for peace and called for calm during these trying moments saying the church has the mandate of reaching out to the people with messages of hope and healing as a vehicle to promote peace.
Ven.Canon Capt.David Serunjoji in his brief remarks thanked the Diocese of Kampala for bestowing upon him this important mandate saying he will continue working with the Christian community to achieve their set aims and objectives.
The head of laity Raymond Kyazze Simwogerere said they are launching a funds drive campaign to raise UGX 10bn to construct a mega commercial complex structure which would once completed enable them to generate income to support their community outreach programmes like supporting the sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children
extending basic social services to the surrounding communities among other strategic community empowerment programs.
We call upon all stakeholders to join our efforts of raising UGX 10bn to construct our planned mega commercial complex structure which shall house offices, conference halls, shops and other business infrastructure as our future investment vehicle he observed.
