The curtains for the second season of the Councillor Wasswa Premier League cup will officially come down on Sunday, 13th October 2024 at Jomayi Playgrounds, Mutundwe Nalumunye.
A number of epic activities are lined up to grant a befitting climax for the sports tournament organized by Councilor Robert Wasswa, also a formidable journalist over the years.
Councilor Wasswa represents Mutundwe Parish in Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality.
The tournament has been impressive. I thank all the participants and stakeholders. The tournament is for talent identification, growth and promotion within Mutundwe. We are also discouraging the youth from engaging in drug abuse and other bad practices like theft among others. We also look forward exposing the talented crop to Masaza Cup teams and lower division clubs.

The grand finale will be between Bayern Munich and Crystal Palace, kicking off at 4:30 PM.
Road to the final:
Bayern Munich topped group A with 13 points to qualify for the semi-finals where they knocked out Wloves from Mirembe Cell 8-7 in post match penalties.
On the other hand, Crystal Palace from Kinaawa led group B with 14 points; they defeated Manchester City from Wabiyinja 1-0 in the semi-finals.
That said; Manchester City will take on Wolves at 2:00 PM for the third place play off duel.
Curtain-raisers:
There are a number of curtain raiser matches line up to spice up the day.
Starting with the juniors (U-14 cluster); Kampala Grammar Mutundwe will tussle Mother Care Preparatory School, Bunamwaya at noon.
This will be followed by the long anticipated game between Radio Sapientia Staff and Team Managers at 3:00 PM.
The third curtain-raiser will be a politican contest of sorts; Mutundwe Musaale Team against Makindye Ssabagabo Councillors at 3:30 PM.
For starters, this tournament started last year with Barcelona fans edging Manchester United fans 1-0.
The teams are from Wabiyinja, Kinaawa, Kisigula, Bateefu-Kiziba, Mirembe, Kanaala and Bunamwaya.
