The Nara Promotionz, a premier organizer of boxing events officially announced the third edition of “The Sweet Science” boxing bonanza, slated for Saturday, 22nd June 2024 at Club Obligato in Kampala city.

The official launch was held at Mount Zion Hotel where the main fight between Uganda’s John Serunjogi and South African Jason Medi was declared.

The two fighters will lock-horns in an 8-round super middleweight contest.

“I am more than ready to battle for the WBA Africa belt. I am currently working hard and will not disappoint the home fans” Serunjogi vowed.

Co-main Fight:

Two Ugandans will contest in the co-main fight between Abdul Njego and Musa Ntege for eight rounds in the cruiserweight cluster.

Ntege promised a great showing in this fight. “There are now more words, it will be action. I am ready to cement that with a brave showing from the first bell” Ntege promised.

Other fights:

A number of undercard fights are lined up on the night to spice the entire arrangement.

Joshua Nyanzi will face Mubaraka Seguya for 10 rounds (national title – welter weight).

Bawa Lubega Wasswa tussles Taafu Odoi (super middle-weight) for 6 rounds and Rogers Ssenyondo will face Owen Mugomba (super welter weight).

Elsewhere, Sulaiman Musaalo will face Simon Shagi in another super welter weight.

Frank Kiwalabye will take on Tanzanian opponent Abdul Juma Kubira in bantamweight (8 rounds).

Haluna Sematire and Herbert Mugalula contest in the middle weight (6 rounds) whilst Nesta Sserunkuma and Ibrahim Biso will play 4 rounds in the middle-weight.

Ayub Khan (Pakistan) will box against Uganda’s Nicholas Tomusange (light weight) for four rounds.

In the Feather weight category, debutant Nelson Kato shall battle Musihabu Kasujja for 4 rounds.

Two debutants Bryan Lwanga and Joshua Mayanja will be in the cruiser weight (4 rounds).

Another debutant Grace Batamye will square up against Mustafah Mulooki in the super middle-weight (4 rounds).

Badru Mawanda and Juvenile Omirya will be in the super bantamweight (4 rounds).

Herbert Matovu and Said Chako will play 6 rounds in the cruiser-weight.

Tickets:

According to Hussein Babu Lubowa, the director of Nara Promotionz, tickets are fixed at Ug.shs 20,000 for the general wing, Ug.shs 50,000 (VIP) and Ug.Shs 500,000 for tables.
